Winter in flower farm: how to plan, grow, harvest and arrange TRULY seasonal blooms and greenery all winter long.
The workshop you need to take your flower farming to the next level
A two days intensive workshop tailor made for farmer florists: from my farm to yours.
It will take your winter production to the next level and bring out the best from the forgotten season.
Most flower farmers close their fields after Chrstimas until the first blooms in early spring missing three crucial months and sales opportunities, when the demand on flowers is really high.
As former garden designers and plant nursery owners we have a pretty extensive knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs that we cannot wait to share with other farmers who want to extend their season.
And as farmer florist with almost ten years of practice we have selected the varieties that are the most suitable for flower design.
The workshop will be taught in English with Italian translation available. Of course if all the attendees are Italian it will be taught in Italian.
PROGRAM:
DAY 1 – WHAT TO GROW; HOW TO GROW
9.30 a.m. / 4.30 p.m.
After a detailed farm tour and welcome breakfast we will introduce you to the most interesting varieties for flower farming and how to add them to your existing farm.
Trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and annuals; nothing will be omitted.
This year we are designing a new part of the farm with a mixed hedgerow focusing on winter interesting plants and we will show you the process behind.
DAY 2 : ARRANGING SEASONAL BEAUTIES
9.30 a.m. / 4.30 p.m.
Arranging with seasonal blooms winter edition. Think deliciously scented blooms on naked branches, the most delicate, brave, little bulbs, hellebores and camellia. But also grasses in their winter suit, miscanthus and stipa for example and conifers.
